Position Available: Grounds Person 7:00am – 3:00pm Job Summary: Responsible for maintaining the landscape and grounds, providing a clean, safe, beautiful environment. Workers perform a variety of tasks, using hand tools, power equipment, and machinery. Responsibilities included, but not limited to: • Use of handheld tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruners, picks, wheel barrows, axes, backpack sprayers, etc… • Operate vehicles and power equipment, such as mowers, tractors, snow blowers, chainsaws, hedge trimmers, pole saws, weed whackers, etc… • Mow and edge lawns. • Prune, trim, and removal of trees and shrubs. • Care for established lawn areas thru aerating, seeding, watering. • Care for established planting beds thru mulching, weed removal, edging. • Provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots. • Gather and remove litter. • Rake, mulch, and compost leaves. • Plant trees, shrubs, bulbs, annuals. • Trim and maintain trees and shrubs. • Maintain and repair tools, equipment, and other grounds property. • Shovel snow and apply salt on sidewalks, stairs, and parking lots. • Installation of various landscape features. Requirements: • Minimum of 5 years of active experience in all phases of lawn, tree, and grounds maintenance with a proven track record. • Must be able to lift heavy objects (50lbs plus) and walk great distances. • Must be able to work additional hours, incl. holidays and weekends as required. • Must be able to work in inclement weather, rain, snow, sleet, etc… • Must have valid NYS driver’s license. • Must have valid authorization to work in the United States. • Must have experience operating a truck with a snowplow. • Must pass equipment competency usage for both power and handheld equipment. $23.00 per hour.
