Help Wanted - Carpentry © craigslist - Map data © OpenStreetMap (google map) compensation: See posting employment type: full-time Help Wanted. PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE AD BEFORE RESPONDING. Carpentry work. We are very open to varying levels of experience. See below. Projects that we perform: • Demolition • Footings • New Construction • Renovations • Additions • Kitchens • Bathrooms • Hardwood flooring • Tiling • Painting • Millwork • Siding • Decks • Limited roofing • Windows • Doors • Etc. What we are looking for: • Dedicated • Team-oriented • Common Sense • Hard working • Dependable • Reliable transportation • On-time • Positive attitude • Willing to take direction • Wants to learn • Ability to occasionally work alone • Honest & Reliable • Good communications • Clean and neat appearance What we are NOT looking for: • ANY drug issues – We have ZERO tolerance. • ANY alcohol issues – We have ZERO tolerance. • There is NO smoking on the job. • Tardiness • Laziness • Stubbornness • Individual-first mentality • Attitude • Poor communication • Bad appearance We welcome an individual with extensive experience and we’re just as willing to train a willing and able candidate (within reason). Veterans encouraged. This could be permanent, summer internship, etc. We’re just as willing to consider a long-term candidate as we are someone for the summer who may be going back to school in the fall. We are ready to hire right now. We may hire multiple staffers. Generally, the work day is 8AM-4:30PM with a ½ hour unpaid for lunch. Generally we meet in the morning and drive the projects together but we’re open-minded to you meeting us there (occasionally or regularly). Doing this kind of work, we have to drive to the jobs, and in this area traffic is unfortunately always a factor. We don’t pay for travel time. The clock starts when we pick up the tools and the clock stops when we put the tools away. While we are trying to focus the projects on the south shore (Norwood to Braintree along the highway), we are fortunate that folks think highly enough of us to call us from Boston, Cambridge, and occasionally for their summer homes in Nahant/Marblehead to Cape Cod. It depends on the project how far we may consider going to do a project. Pay is commensurate with experience and ability. The range is $15-$30/hour. We don’t pay for holidays, vacations, or benefits, but that could be a consideration down the road. Obviously, more experience and ability often is worth more. However, someone with 25 years of experience that only works in “first gear” and can’t kick it into a higher gear isn’t worth as much as someone with 3 years of experience that busts their butt giving 110% every day. Must have reliable transportation. Your work, your effort, your results, will speak volumes. If you are very productive, you make the company money, the more productive you are, the more you are worth…so, if you have to ask when you can expect your first review and potentially your first wage adjustment, you probably aren’t a good fit. We're not as gruff as this ad sounds but it's important to make sure everyone is aware of all expectations up front. Unfortunately, in prior ad postings here on CL we've gotten respondents that were quite challenging! If this sounds like a good fit, drop us an email (tell us a little about yourself, your experience, prior employment, prior compensation, why you're interested in working with us and why it may be a good fit) and let’s talk about it and see if we can get you started!
