A Swingin' Sock Hop with the powerful 14-piece Silver Tones Swing Band. Dance lesson is included with admission and two hours of live music!
The Silver Tones Swing Band is excited to return to Marshall for the first time in over a year! Don’t miss the soaring horns, hot rhythm section, and dynamic vocals of this 14-piece swing ensemble, featuring top musicians in the area and vocalists Wendy Marie and Gene Bates. The Silver Tones Swing band is an area favorite and has performed all over the DC Metro area and beyond. The Marshall Ruritan Club is a brand-new venue for the Silver Tones, with a beautiful dance-floor and plenty of room to spread out.
Guests are invited to step back in time and dress in vintage attire from the 1940s and 1950s. The evening will start with a swing dance lesson by a professional dance instructor. You'll learn the important dance moves to get you in the swing of things!
After the dance lesson, the Silver Tones will bring to the stage two full sets of hot swing hits, featuring songs made famous by Frank Sinatra, Elvis, the Blues Brothers, Ella Fitzgerald, Glenn Miller, Peggy Lee, Bobby Darin, and so many others. The show will also feature the Silver Belles vocal trio, who recreate the music of the Andrews Sisters and delight audiences with their rich three-part harmonies.
Light concessions and soda/water will be available for sale, and there will be a 50/50 raffle. The venue will be at 30% capacity, given the current guidelines in place. Tickets are limited. Please follow social distancing and facemask guidelines.
Advance tickets are $20 per person. Tickets at the door are $25. Student tickets (with ID) are $15. Come to dance or come to listen, but you’re sure to have a swingin’ good time at the hop! The Silver Tones Swing Band always put on a great show!
