Description

A multimedia Myers School of Art senior exhibition, on display at The Cummings Center's Institute for Human Science and Culture galleries. About this exhibitionGrowing Pains is a multimedia observation of the simultaneous presence of grief and nostalgia that come with the loss of childhood-- whether it be people, objects, or memories--that part with us as time moves forward, becoming unreachable. These unreachable entities shift like waves that rarely hold a permanence in the forefront of our minds, but that also intricately lace themselves in our lives. Bringing attention to these moments interwoven with our deepest memories is a way to acknowledge and accept these ever-changing lives we lead, filled with grief and pain and joy and love. Exhibit Opening: Friday April 23, 2021 [4 - 8pm]The University of Akron Covid-19 regulations permit a max of 10 people per gathering.
