TEWKSBURY, MA — Tewksbury is offering rent and mortgage assistance to households affected by the coronavirus, the town announced Monday.
Town residents who have been harmed by the virus and are overdue on rent or mortgage payments can receive up to $5,000 for up to two monthly payments, the town said.
The town is partnering with the Lowell Five Bank Charitable Foundation and using CARES Act funding for the program, according to a news release.
Applications are due by 5 p.m. on March 31. Applicants must provide evidence of being affected by the virus and being delinquent on rent or mortgage payments as well as their landlord or mortgager's name, their contact information, their payment amount and their mortgage account number.
Applications are available from the town and the bank.
