I am hiring a personal assistant! I am a 54 year old married, employed, active and funny power wheelchair user with Cerebral Palsy. I am looking to add to my caregiving team. What I need help with: bathing, dressing, grooming, using the bathroom, meal preparation, eating, light housekeeping and laundry, light administrative work and email dictation, assistance in and out of a swimming pool, and occasionally driving me in my wheelchair accessible vehicle. (Proof of good driving record) I work full time, and am currently working at home. The position is part time. Training shifts will be both in the morning and in the evening. I have team members that are taking vacations and will need coverage, and then a team member is moving on. Previous experience with a person with a disability is helpful but certainly not required. We will train you. No lifting is required, as my home has a ceiling lift installed in the bedroom and the bathroom, but you will need to be able to reposition me. (pull me up in my wheelchair, roll me to the side when laying down) Occasionally you will need to walk up to one mile. You will need to be able to type, spell, and edit documents. You need to be able to follow verbal directions, learn a routine, and be flexible when the routine changes. You need to be reliable, come to work on time, and to communicate with me and the team to cover requests for time off. I have a small adorable service dog, so you must love dogs! Shifts include mornings, evenings and weekends. We offer some benefits. (Accident and sickness supplemental policies) for part timers, and medical and dental for full time employees.
