Retired medical cannabis patient seeks current info on clones

I have been quite ill (nothing contagious) and in serious pain for over 30 years, and cannabis is necessary for me to get any sleep or to function normally. Until a couple of years ago I was able to find a variety of strains useful for my condition with my State card and word of mouth. Since cannabis became fully legal, I have found prices on clones to which I have access to have tripled or quadrupled. This eliminates much of the financial advantage of growing, considering how few plants medical patients are allowed (owing to my illness, my circle of local friends and contacts is not extensive). I would appreciate any accurate information leading to a timely resolution of this situation. I need to plant soon. Thank you.
