BRADENTON, FL — A 64-year-old Palmetto man was killed in a Bradenton crash Sunday night, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.
The crash happened at the intersection of 27th Street East and 4th Avenue East around 11 p.m., troopers said.
At the time of the accident, a 37-year-old Bradenton man driving an SUV was traveling east on 27th Street East approached the stop sign intersection at 4th Avenue East. Meanwhile, a 60-year-old Palmetto woman was driving her car south on 4th Avenue East. The Palmetto man was a passenger in her car, troopers said.
As the SUV entered the intersection from the stop sign, its front hit the car's right side. The SUV rotated off the road, coming to a stop in the southeast corner of the intersection. The car also drove off the road, stopping when it hit a chain-link fence, FHP said.
