BROCKTON, MA — A Brockton man was arrested in Mattapan early Sunday morning on firearm and drug possession charges following a traffic stop, said Boston police in a news release. Billy Alexander, 38, was pulled over for speeding in the area of 1480 Blue Hill Ave. and allegedly began reaching toward a hunting knife on the front passenger seat, according to police. Officers ordered him to exit the vehicle and he was pat-frisked for additional weapons, but none were found. While searching the inside of the vehicle, officers found a fanny pack containing a loaded Ruger LCP .380 with four rounds in the magazine, a plastic bag of marijuana, and a digital scale, said police. Prosecutors say Alexander is facing multiple firearm and drug possession charges and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
