Job Opportunity Ponder Environmental Services located in Bakersfield is looking for a Lead Fencing Installer. This position requires leading projects and tasks involving layout of job, sitting post, installing fencing, hanging gates, welding and maintenance work at various company and customer locations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Mentors technicians and lead technicians on the job site with routine tasks and completes related paperwork. • Completes work orders accurately and turns in daily paperwork in a timely manner. • Assists Safety and Operations departments with developing and updating Company SOPs, job aids, and work instructions for technician related duties. • Transport Non-Hazardous supplies as instructed by dispatch and shipping documentation. • Operates vehicles with a capacity of 26,000 lbs. or less with/without various sized trailer. • Install permanent or temporary fencing (including chain link, etc) • Operates the following equipment pressure washers, steam machines, hydro-ex, air compressors, ventilation equipment, various pumps, vacuum equipment, sked steers, backhoes, one- and two-man augers and safety equipment including daily inspection of equipment, set up, startup, and shut down in accordance with training, equipment manuals, and Standard Operating Procedures. • Leads crew with setting up job sites including containments, chocking of trailers/equipment, setting up equipment, barricading of jobsite, proper parking areas, setting of vehicle cones, and decontamination procedure with little to no influence from supervisor/safety. • Assists Trucks Drivers including spotting, loading, and unloading of supplies, cleaning of the trucks, and organizing of tools, fittings, and supplies. • Assist Roll off Truck Drivers including spotting, lining bins, open and closing lids/doors, securing straps, applying labeling, and project required documentation. • Assist Dry Van, Stake Bed, Flat Bed, and Trailer Truck Drivers with spotting, offloading drums, totes, pallets, overpacks, supplies, equipment using forklifts, truck liftgate, dolly, and pallet jacks. • Operates and maintains certifications for forklifts, manlifts, reach lifts and skid steers. • Properly inspects, uses, cleans, and stores respirators including ½ face full face cartridge respirators and instore of Supplied Air Respirators and SCBAs • Bump testing and use of air monitoring equipment including H2S, 4-gas meters, PID meters, and any other monitoring equipment qualified to operate. • Capable of correctively completing a JSA/JHA, CSE permit, & rescue plans, and/or facility specific permits/paperwork. • Maintains good communication with job site supervisor, dispatch, operations, and fellow crew members. • Attend monthly safety meetings. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. · High School Diploma or GED equivalent · Minimum of 7 years of related experience in the fencing industry · Ability to measure and compute rate, ratio, percentages and do other basic math related to the position. · Ability to use common sense to solve problems and make good decisions. · Knowledge and ability to use the Electronic Logs Software, ADP Payroll system and use of a computer for training. · 40-hour Hazwoper CFR certification training course, follow up with annual eight-hour refresher training. · Valid CA Driver License with a clean DMV record Certificates, Licenses, Registrations The following must be kept current: TWIC, HAZ-MAT, 40 Hour HAZWHOPER, First Aide/CPR For more information about Ponder and to apply, go to or send your resume to [email protected]
