Average San Diego County Gas Price Rises For 38th Time In 39 Days

By City News Service, Times of San Diego March 1, 2021 The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County rose Sunday for the 20th consecutive day and the 38th time in 39 days, increasing 1.1 cents to $3.719, its highest amount since Dec. 10, 2019. The average price has increased 37.4 cents over the past 39 days, including 1.5 cents on Saturday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 11.6 cents more than one week ago, 31.7 cents higher than one month ago and 17.3 cents greater than one year ago. The run of rising prices has been the result of increasing crude oil prices, trader activity in the futures markets, and the Texas deep freeze, which "has diverted some California gasoline production to Arizona," said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.
