Description

This six hour training will guide formal and informal educators in the integration of Project Learning Tree's 96 activities. Project Learning Tree is a supplemental K8 curriculum supported by the Sustainable Forest Initiative that blends science, technology, engineering, art, language arts, social studies, and math to learning about trees and forest ecosystems. The lessons are designed to be active and many can be used as project based learning units or service learning units. For the early learner the activities are designed to stimulate cognitive development with an emphasis on the five senses. As learners age the activities progressively engage system and analytic thinking. This program is useful for both formal and informal educators with tips to maximize an environmental education experience.
