NEWTOWN, PA — The Bucks County Department of Health recorded violations at 6 bars and restaurants in Newtown during the month of February. Here's what health inspectors found: Hometown Deli, 2 violations: Sandwich prep unit not holding food at correct temperature; gaskets for stand up refrigerator in the kitchen are ripped. Jake's Eatery, 1 violation: Refrigerator drawer interior and shelves in two-door refrigerator are not smooth surfaces. Lovebird Newtown, 1 violation: Employees are changing gloves but not washing their hands in between glove changes. Mom Mom's Gourmet Take N' Bake, 1 violation: Observed food thawing in the prep sink. Thawing must be done under running water or in the refrigerator. The Greystone, 3 violations: No kitchen employees were wearing facemasks upon arrival; observed a pan of sausage stored on the floor of the walk-in cooler; knife sharpeners and spatulas stored in unapproved areas for in-use utensils. Turning Point of Newtown, 3 violations: Employee drinks in food prep area; salmon was not cooled before cold holding in the prep top unit; food in hot holding unit not at safe temperature.
