Press release from the Los Angeles County Library: February 25, 2021 Join us for a month-long celebration of teen creativity! Explore your artistic talent by drawing, painting, taking photographs, creating your own film, or performing for friends and family. Try your hand at creative writing, poetry, or crafting your own graphic novel or zine. Tap into your creative problem-solving skills by identifying challenges in your community and finding new ways to tackle them. This month is all about YOU and the things you can do! Check out our booklist featuring creative teen protagonists, sign up for one of our upcoming virtual programs, try your hand at one of the art activities featured on our YouTube channel, and participate in the Creating Hope Art Project. Creating Hope Art Project We are inviting you to create art featuring a positive affirmation. Express yourself using any medium (photography, painting, poetry, a short story, a monologue, a sculpture, etc.) incorporating a message of hope and positivity and share it on social media. Tag @LACountyLibrary and #TeensCreateMonth so we can see your amazing work! Not on social media? Not a problem! Submit your Creating Hope Art to Safer at Home: Stories and Art. Need inspiration? Check out the examples below created by library staff. Example A — Photograph of an original collage/vision board. Example B – Original photography and a positive quotation (photograph taken with a disposable camera and edited using Photofox and Word Swag).
