ELMHURST, IL — An intoxicated Elmhurst resident was arrested after an encounter with officers about 7 p.m. Sunday, according to a police report. Gail C. Brasie, 36, was arrested on charges of assault and battery. She was released on bond. According to the report, officers responded to a call about a woman on a resident's front steps in the 500 block of Swain Avenue. The woman, identified as Brasie, was uncooperative with officers and became irate when they told her that her husband was on the way, police said. The woman threw her purse and struck an officer in the leg, then threw a set of keys, which nearly hit the officer in the head, according to the report. She was taken to the police station.
