Neighborhood Prayer Walk

We will meet at church and proceed to walk as a group in an approximately 1 mile loop, stopping to pray at various locations. What is a prayer-walk? As the name implies, it involves walking and praying! One definition is “praying on-site with insight”. While the prayers during a prayer-walk may have some devotional component, they are primarily intercessory (prayers on behalf of others). When you are on a prayer-walk, you pray for the neighborhood or location in which you walk and for the people who live and work there. Prayer-walking helps us to reach beyond our own concerns to focus on the needs of others. Our prayer-walk on March 27 will focus on the neighborhood surrounding the church. We will meet in the church parking lot at 10:45 a.m. for group prayer and instruction before embarking on the prayer-walk. Maps and prayer guides will be distributed. Participants will need to observe COVID-19 precautions by wearing masks during the walk.
