WORCESTER, MA — Worcester police are investigating a Sunday afternoon shooting that left one man injured in the downtown area. The shooting happened just before 2:30 p.m. along Piedmont Street, according to police. Officers found a 47-year-old man injured at the scene. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment, police said. Police did not immediately announce any arrests, and asked anyone with information about the shooting to contact the detective bureau.
