Dog Day Care & Hotel (San Leandro) DOG HANDLER SHIFTS AVAILABLE Compensation: Hourly rate dependent on experience Dog Time is a busy highly rated Dog Daycare and Dog Hotel located in San Leandro about a 10 minute walk from the San Leandro BART Station. We are looking for Dog Handlers that can become part of our long term team. We believe we provide the best daycare and hotel experience to our guests and we are only looking for individuals who can engage our kids, their parents, contribute to our success and have fun doing it! We are an Owner managed, smaller scale facility and every team member works hard and makes a difference. Our Supervisors and Managers all started as Dog Handlers and we love to recognize talented, hardworking team members. If you are a Dog Lover who likes a very physical job that will have you on your feet all day, that can require lifting of up to 50 lbs, with lots of cleaning in a fast paced environment then this job could be yours! All openings include at least one weekend shift. We don't change schedules every pay period! We offer excellent pay based on experience and Kaiser Health Benefits and 401K are also available to those who qualify. The Dog Handler positions are between 18-32 hours per week. We can offer more flexible short work shifts if you only have morning or afternoon availability. You should be a knowledgeable about dogs and be dog fanatic. These positions are DOG SOCIAL NOT HUMAN SOCIAL and when you are qualified you will manage your own play group for four or more hours. The talented group at Dog Time! love to spend the time with the kids but not everyone can. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - Be positive, happy, well balanced and always open to new ideas - Dog Handlers can spend up to 6 hours in the play rooms with a bunch of rowdy, fun dog kids. If you need lots of human interaction this is NOT the right job for you. No phone calls, texting, or surfing while on duty. - Be able to show up on time, alert, focused, and ready for an energetic day - 6 Mos Experience or equivalent with another daycare facility, shelter, or vet is preferred BUT we will consider a very hard working, dog loving trainee. - Must be reliable, flexible, and happy to clean up pee and and poop. - We only use positive or passive correction techniques and you must be willing to follow our rules. - Experience that includes a basic understanding of dog signaling, behavior and group dynamics is a plus. - The Dog Kids visiting us need their care givers so we don't tolerate tardiness or unexcused absences.
