Description
Male white Chinese goose. He was born July of last year. He has so far only been an indoor goose but I believe someone with goose experience will be able to transfer him to being an outdoor goose.
Geese are loud. Geese are dirty. Geese cannot be potty trained like cats and dogs. Their water bowl needs to be deep enough for them to rinse their nostrils. Do NOT contact me if you don’t know how to keep geese or other waterfowl.
He does not do well with small animals. He is too friendly with dogs; he chews on their ears and feet and chases them to play. He walks up to my dogs while they’re eating and eat out of the same bowl. This, obviously, is extremely dangerous as most dogs would kill him with one bite so he would need to always be supervised if there’s a dog around.
Again, don’t contact me and waste my time if you’ve never had a goose/duck. I’d rather rehome him to someone with a flock and large yard with a pool or pond. I may consider rehoming him to indoor housing but you cannot take him in if you live in an apartment as geese are loud and you’ll be asked to get rid of him or get animal control called on you.
Contact me for more information if you’re actually serious about taking him in. $50 rehoming fee. Pet only. If you want a goose for food you can get one for a lot cheaper in the “farm & garden” section of Craigslist. RI has lots of farms.
