Job Description Position information: Irrigation Technician Location: Sunheaven Farms Reports to: Irrigation Manager Job Summary Maintenance and installation of the center pivots to facilitate irrigation needs for the Sunheaven Farms circles. Essential Functions • Repair and maintain irrigation equipment as necessary in a timely manner. • Assemble, disassemble, and maintain valves, pumps, and associated equipment as necessary in a timely manner. • Pivot repairs. • Pipeline leak repair as necessary. • Oversee Irrigation technician assistant who may work with him/her on occasion. • Ability to work well independently, as well as, in a team effort. • Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company's discretion.   Job Requirements and Qualifications License Requirements (licenses, programs, or certificates): • Valid driver’s license Knowledge Requirements: • Agriculture • Cla-Val and Nelson Valves • Motor controls ranging from 50hp to 2000hp Preferred Experience: • An Irrigation Technician should have experience in the agricultural environment with all types of irrigation pivots. • Maintenance of Zimmatic, Valley, Pringle, Pierce, and Renkie pivots required. • Experience maintaining up to 2000 hp motors and pumps. • Minimum of 2 years experience with medium voltage and 480 volts. Other Information • Workplace would often be confined to the site where the irrigation system is situated. Employee may need to move certain mechanical pieces of the system. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. This profession is mostly done outdoors and he/she may be required to work under extreme weather conditions such as during rainy or snow seasons.
