ISO young companion dog, mixes preferred

I'm looking for a younger companion dog. I'm a 36 y.o. male, lifelong sufferer of depression, hoping that an animal to bond with will finally help me deal with that. I live alone in an ADU type dwelling, relatively spacious, but with limited outdoor space, so a dog that is happy being lazy around the house would be best. I'm also not far from Mount Tabor and look forward to regular walks and visits to dog parks, as well as hikes and outdoor adventures. Every single pittie mix I've met has been wonderful, so I have a strong preference for pit mixes. Definitely looking for that delighted-to-meet-strangers energy, that good blend of trainability and good manners without the trouble that comes from shepherd type breeds with nothing to herd! Plus the short coat, sweet smart eyes, lil pittie smile... Hoping to find a dog that's less than 50 pounds, and already house trained. I don't know who reads ISO dog ads on Craigslist these days, but if even if you just have some feedback on other breeds, or know how I can best find the characteristics I'm looking for, I'd take it.
