Hi! Not sure if this will make its way to the right people, but if you happen to know anyone who is living at 82 Main Street right now, please pass along this post to them (it's typically college housing whose residents change every academic year). I lived there for 2 years between 2009-2011, and I'm curious to know if a wooden trunk/chest I left behind is still around (even if it's in terrible condition by now). I moved out on my graduation day and my family and I were so exhausted from loading our cars to the max that there were some pieces of furniture I left behind -- but it turns out that this particular trunk/chest was built for my mom by a late family member, and she's always felt disappointed about the fact that I left it there, so I'd like to retrieve it if possible and get it back in the family!
It may have moved to a different room by now, but when I last saw it in 2011 it was on the 2nd floor, in the room that was to the right at the top of the (indoor) stairs from the entrance closest to Main Street. Pictures uploaded for reference: Dark brown, hinged top with rounded corners, very plain/simple-looking, and from what I remember, kind of unfinished on the back (I always had it pushed up against a bed or wall so that you didn't have to see the back). Just shorter than the width of a twin bed, and high enough to be able to sit on as a bench.
Anyway, it's a long shot, but it somehow seems less weird to post about this here than it does to reach out to the landlord about this (whose info I did find on the latest SUNY Potsdam SGA housing PDF).
Thanks for reading!
