Description
Here is a situation of premeditated fraud.
etsy seller Cindy Blackenburg of EdithandEvelyn aka EdithandEvelynVintage, offered a statue for sale. She claimed it was made in France in the 1800s. She said she did not know the maker. Said she purchased it from a flea market in France. I bought it.
Before I received it, I discovered the fraud. FACTS: Cindy Blackenburg purchased the statue from an eBay seller in January 2021 for $25. The eBay seller correctly listed the statue as circa 1960s, made in Italy by Columbia Statuary. The statue still had the tag on the bottom with the maker's name and Made in Italy. Cindy Blackenburg erased/altered the tag so that it could not be read. Once I discovered the fraud, I confronted her with it. She then contacted the shipping company, FedEx, and intercepted the package and refunded me. I reported the entire thing to etsy. So far, etsy has done NOTHING about it, and since she cancelled the purchase and refunded me, I cannot even leave a negative feedback for her. Also, etsy says I may not tell other etsy buyers about the fraud.
I reported to the police who said it is the feds who have to go after her. Will be reporting to the FTC, the BBB, and the Attorney General's Offices For Consumer Protection. Police detective told me to publish as far and wide as possible to get the word out if I want to warn other innocent buyers. Any other suggestions? Any experiences you would like to share? Thank you.
