Overview: Sutton Contracting installs Siding (Fiber Cement siding, soffit, fascia) and Weatherization Systems (integrated systems that include housewrap, window & door flashing as well as Zip systems which is taping walls and roofing sheathing) on new construction homes. Experience is a plus, but not necessary. We provide training for our hired installers. What you should know about this position: Transportation – You must have a valid Driver’s License, clean driving record, and be able to get to work on time. All of the work is outdoors (year-round) and you must be able to work in the heat. You should enjoy getting paid to be physically fit and be outdoors. Lifting - The siding materials and rolls of house wrap weigh approximately 30-35 lbs. You should be capable of handling this much weight easily and be able to physically handle tall extension ladders as well. Height - We mostly install on to 1 and 2 story buildings and even Zip tape the roof of these buildings on occasion. You should be comfortable working at these heights using ladders and walk boards, and we provide all safety harnesses and fall protection equipment. Schedule - We meet at the office weekdays at 7:00 a.m. Ending times vary depending on work and weather. We also work Saturdays when our schedule gets full or we get behind due to the weather. Basic Tools Needed for this position: • Tool Belt – To hold your tools and materials while you’re on a ladder or on the roof. • Hard Hat - OSHA, FEMA, EPA, State Department of Workers Comp - they are continuously monitoring jobsites and most of our builders require a hard hat to be put on when you step on to the job. You can pick them up at any Lowe's, Home Depot, or similar hardware store. You are required to wear one on all jobs. We will provide a hardhat to all full-time employees. • Razor Knife - Any type of razor knife that is comfortable with you is fine. We recommend quick change types. We supply the blades for you. • Work shoes - Steel toe shoes are NOT required, but something more durable than regular tennis shoes is NECESSARY. You will be required to walk on a roof, so shoes/boots with good protection and traction is REQUIRED. • Eye protection - regular sunglasses are ok. We don't use power tools, but the sun will take a toll on your eyes out on the jobsite, so pick something comfortable. • A great attitude, attention to detail, the ability to learn quickly, and willingness to work with others… a team player!
