Rail Explorers is seeking a self-motivated person to join Rail Explorers Catskills Team in Phoenicia, NY. This position is for someone who loves working outdoors and has trade skills to fix and maintain the grounds, facilities, and operations at our station. A Utility Worker must perform upkeep/projects to improve and help maintain the 4 miles of track and the hospitality areas of REX Catskills. There will also be opportunities to help the Bike Mechanic with any repairs or modifications needed on our pedal powered rail bikes. The ideal candidate will have a ‘jack of all trades’ skillset and be able to rely on those skills when a situation requires them. Experience in landscaping, plumbing, and mechanics are a plus. Job Duties will include but are not limited to: - Ensure safety of all Rail Explorers Catskills assets and operations - Responsible for the scheduling of all necessary maintenance projects - Responsible for inventory, functionality, and upkeep of all power tools - Management of all on site work at Rail Explorers Catskills - Responsible for the maintenance and presentation of Rail Explorers hospitality areas Essential for the position: - Self motivated & must be able to work independently and efficiently - Adaptable in a fast paced environment - Strong attention to detail - Must be reliable and to work to deadlines - Good communication skills - Can communicate effectively with their supervisor and relay information regarding ongoing projects, condition of tools, supplies etc. - Willing to work outside in all weather conditions - Friendly and a team player - Valid driver's license - Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. - Must be 18+ years old.
