Star Equipment has 4 locations - Ames, Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, and Waterloo. We have an immediate opportunity for: Rental Yard - This position is responsible for the handling of equipment in our rental yard. You would need good people skills as you are often the first and the last contact after a piece of construction equipment is rented to the customer. If you have light mechanical skills and are open to a new opportunity, come see what Star Equipment has to offer, we provide on-the-job training. Duties to include: Put together rental orders in a timely manner. Load/unload customers and help secure load in a timely manner. Provide operating instructions to the customer. Check in rental equipment (general maintenance). Communicate ID #’s, hours, fuel, and any cleaning or damage charges into the office. Maintain a safe and clean workspace. Predeliver new equipment for sales as needed. Job Requires: General mechanical experience – minimum 2 years Good mechanical aptitude, knowledge of electric and hydraulic systems. Ability to lift 100 lbs. Ability to work long hours.
