Simulcast wagering and Poker will still be available at Derby Lane for many years to come. We have IMMEDIATE OPENINGS for part-time POKER BRUSHES. Seeking team-players with a flexible work schedule (available days, nights, weekends and holidays). All applicants must be able to pass a drug test and have a clean criminal background. Misdemeanor theft convictions (petty theft, larceny, etc.) and felony violations will prevent the state from issuing pari-mutuel license) Reliable transportation a must due to public transit may not be running for the late shift. Part-time....POKER BRUSH OVERVIEW: ($5.65 per hour + tips) Greet customers, explain rules of poker games, perform functions of runner for players and dealers during poker games. Perform function as cashier in cashier cage, responsible for sale of poker chips. Accountable for money and chips balance from beginning to end, and throughout your shift. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Maintain customer waiting list; * Responsible for transfer of chips to table in accordance with internal controls; * Transfer of playing cards at tables as needed. * Receives money from Poker Dealers for table fills, and purchases chip fills in a timely and accurate manner. May accept money from patron for the purpose of chip purchases at the table before the table opens for play. * Removes chip trays from and under tables. * Removes unwanted items from empty tables upon the completion of a game. * Assist dealers as a runner for any situation the may occur. * Perform other duties as assigned by Management QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE: * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills * Basic math, reading and money handling skills * Outstanding customer service skills * Prior gaming experience preferred WORKING CONDITIONS FOR: * Walking, climbing, squatting, stooping, bending, kneeling periodically * Repeated use of hands, wrist, and arms. * Long periods of sitting (dealer) / standing (cocktail server). * Consistent reaching * Overtime work on "as needed" basis PERFORMANCE STANDARDS: * Meet all regulations pertaining to health, safety and personal hygiene in accordance with City, State, and Federal laws * Comply with Company / Department policies, including attendance * Must not present a direct threat to health, safety or the welfare of fellow employees or others * Treat all guests, vendors and employees with courtesy, respect, fairness and consistency * Professional in appearance, grooming and behavior * Ability to interpret and complete all communications received and submitted * Abide by portion control standards * Required to be certified under food handlers program within 90 days * * Hours vary.
