Overseen by a Repair and Service Manager; we have a team of service trucks with professional repair technicians and inspectors ready to service our customers. Full Job Description Position Open: ROOF MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN Hours: (8) hours per day with ½ hour for lunch. Monday – Friday 7AM – 4:00PM Reports to: Roofs Service Manager JOB REQUIREMENTS: · Perform work autonomously at assigned commercial buildings, · Ability to cover work shifts when there is a “person out” situation, · Must be able to work overtime, DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: (May include but are not limited to the following:) · Basic building maintenance and repairs involving carpentry and waterproofing work, · Preventative maintenance and repairs on single-ply roofing systems, · Repair or replace leaking and defective materials, e.g. patching, flashing, etc., · Perform routine preventative maintenance and basic cleaning, · Estimates and orders materials and supplies for truck, · Repairs, replaces or maintains gutters and related equipment, · Report problems, deficiencies and/or safety issues found on buildings to the Service Manager, including defects, · Maintain a “customer service” work approach towards clientele and service location personnel · Perform related duties as assigned and work overtime as deemed necessary SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES: · Use and care of hand tools and power equipment to perform basic maintenance · Ability to work on roofs to perform minor roof repairs, clearing of roof drains and gutters · Understand and follow oral and written directions. · Work independently in the absence of supervision. · Work shifts and overtime. · Establish and maintain effective relationships with Store Directors and building managers in buildings in the course of work. · Clean and care for assigned areas and equipment. · Knowledge of methods and practices used minor building maintenance activities. · Knowledge of tools, equipment and supplies used in roof maintenance activities. · Exercise safe work practices. · Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. · Ability to work positively with helper office staff, department heads and the general public. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT: · Must be able to lift to 60 pounds, climb ladders, stand for long period of times, operate machinery, perform outdoor duties during inclement weather, i.e., snow removal, sanding and de-icing. · Performing the duties of this job requires driving for long periods, walking, reaching with both hands and arms, climbing and/or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling. LICENSES: · Must be able to possess and maintain a Massachusetts “Class B” driver’s license.
