Composition, Computer Music, Electronic Music Lessons Available
I am a composer with a Ph.D. in music from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, a Master and Bachelor degree from Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, China. My compositions in various genres and forms include orchestral, choral, chamber, vocal and instrumental works, as well as music written for television, movies, and dance. My music has been performed worldwide at major concerts and venues in Australia, England, Romania, Japan, China and the U.S.A.
I am the founder of the Computer and Electronic Music Studio at Beijing Central Conservatory of Music, the first of its kind in China. I has programmed and performed electronic music for Water Passion After St. Matthew, the opera Peony Pavilion, the movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Hero, and The Banquet and for the CDs 2000 Today and Bitter Love. I am the music editor for the films Hero and The Banquet.
I served as a guest professor in Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing for more than 10 years. As a visiting composer, I also gave lectures at institutions in the States, such as Peabody Conservatory of Music and Oregon University, School of Music.
As a music educator, I am more than happy to guide these who intent to develop their career in the music field or these who try to explore the pleasure of music creation by offering private composition, computer music, electronic music lessons at a reasonable rate.
