In this novelty taxidermy class you'll learn how to mount a life-size chipmunk from start to finish and go home with your completed piece!
In this one day taxidermy class, you'll be learning how to skin, prep, and mount a life-size standing chipmunk. We'll be going over all of the details so that you learn the skills you need to start basic taxidermy. This is a great gateway into the world of this unique art form!
Where: Hive and Forge in Salem MA
When: Sunday March 28th, 2020 Class runs 11:30am-5pm
Who: Working alongside licensed taxidermist Nicole Baldelli. She is the owner of the businesses Nikki Deerest Novelty Taxidermy and Lone Fox Taxidermy. She has over 5 years of taxidermy experience and a wide range of background with art and animals.
Details: This class is 18+ as we will be working with sharp objects.
Parking: There is a lot next to Hive and Forge where you can park. Salem also has multiple parking garages and lots in the area.
What's included: All basic supplies needed to complete your taxidermy piece. We will have wooden bases and other natural items. We also encourage you to get creative! Feel free to bring any fun props along with you if you'd like to dress up your chipmunk! We will also provide some light refreshments.
Class sizes are limited to 5 students to allow proper social distancing guidelines. Masks are required while inside Hive & Forge and the workshop.
***No animals used for my classes are harmed for the purpose of taxidermy. I work with breeders, friends, pest control, and fellow good Samaritans to source animals that have either died naturally or are a result of the farming/meat industry. All remains are used and nothing goes to waste.
