Description
Hello,
I am a working professional (unrelated to music) in my late 30s looking to join a hard rock/metal original band as lead guitarist. I have experience writing songs from scratch with all the parts, but I am looking now for a band that has a songwriter already that I can just add lead parts and solos to. I have lots of experience playing in bands and gigging (been playing since I was 14) and wish to be out gigging with this project as soon as possible (after COVID). COVID will obviously still be around for at least a few more months, but my thinking is that I can join a band now, work on the songs remotely, and be ready to gig once COVID is over. I do music for fun (like I said, I have a non-music career), but music is my biggest passion outside of family and work, so I do take it seriously enough. I am drug/drama/ego-free, and looking for the same (alcohol is not a drug, obviously :-)).
A few more things:
- Due to family obligations (family comes first), I will be able to meet to rehearse or play a show once a week max.
- I am looking only for hard rock and metal.
- I am politically very liberal. Ideally I'd love to have band members of the same political leaning, but that is not a requirement, as long as you agree to not talk politics if you are on the other side, and as long as your lyrics aren't anti-liberal. NO RACISTS.
My influences/favorite bands: avatar, nothing more, nightwish, alice in chains, godsmack, disturbed, shinedown, chevelle, alter bridge, mudvayne, hellyeah, pantera, metallica, black label society, slipknot, static-x, rob zombie, smashing pumpkins, stone temple pilots, tool, velvet revolver, guns 'n roses, system of a down, live, linkin park, etc..... (basically, stuff with awesome riffs & rhythms, guitar melodies, and good singing)...
Thanks!
