Do you want to learn an old world craft taught by a Master Blacksmith? Join us for a Damascus Steel Knife Class as we Fire up the Forge! Tired of the boring, same old office life consuming your Monday - Friday?  Want to learn a new (old) trade while getting your hands dirty and have some fun in a real forge?  Join us for a weekend blacksmithing class where you will learn some bladesmith basics and even get to make your own knife from Damascus steel!  ***ALL COVID-19 SAFETY GUIDELINES ARE STRICTLY ENFORCED. FACEMASKS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING REQUIRED*** This 2-day class is from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with a one-hour lunch break over both Saturday and Sunday.  Class size is small, so you will receive one-on-one attention and will participate in a hands-on learning environment. It is a highly interactive class, and you will work alongside master blacksmiths creating a knife that is yours to keep! You will hammer, forge, harden, make the handle, sharpen, and do a great deal of the work yourself, and by the end of Sunday's class, you will take home your handmade finished product and leave with knowledge of introductory knife-making, and a proud feeling of accomplishment from your hard work. Safety Information: You don’t need to bring much to class besides a positive attitude. Safety glasses and work gloves are provided. Participants are advised to wear closed-toe shoes, preferably leather, and natural fiber clothing, such as cotton. Synthetic fibers can catch sparks more easily.  Please bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.  All attendees must sign a safety consent form before class begins. *SESSIONS WILL BE RESCHEDULED IF LESS THAN 3 PEOPLE REGISTER.
