My music teacher invented the percussion orchestra and the prepared piano, in the 1940’s. He invented the use of aleatoric techniques in composition. He was an exceptional and unusual man. We performed Tuesday, February 23 on the Marina Green, as the New York Philharmonic is doing, six at a time, outside Manhattan subway stations, just to keep their performance chops up.
