Learn how to make one of kind fine silver pieces using metal clay! Participants in this introduction level class will learn how to mold, shape, refine, and sinter fine (.999) silver clay to create one-of-a-kind pendants or earrings. The $110 materials fee includes 15g of PMC 3 or PMC Flex Clay and a basic clay working kit as well as use of the instructor's tools and the Makerspace jewelry department equipment. The sintering method that will be used is torch firing which will include the use of a butane torch. As such, it is essential that participants take the necessary precautions, including wearing close-fitting natural fiber clothing (cotton recommended) and closed toed shoes. All COIVD restrictions will be in place, including required use of masks, maintaining social distance, and frequent use of hand sanitizers.
