Help needed installing a fireplace

I have a 5 year old home. It has a little 32" Vent-less gas corner fireplace. It was supposed to be a contemporary FP with a stainless steel surround but the builder did not want to put in what we wanted (said it was 'discontinued). It's embarrassing because its so small and plain. Well we never liked the one we could get from the builder and now its time for it to go. The existing Firebox sets on plywood in the corner flush with sheetrock. I will send a picture later. I will handle the cosmetics with a tile contractor later. If not for a few little things a person could almost slide the existing one out and slide a new 45" FP in. Since there is a gas hook up close by I don't want to do this alone. So I am not quite sure where to draw the line as to the terms of the project but I am read to roll. I have a long lost of 'honey dos' (deck expansion, some trees and shrubs, some light electrical etc.) that should keep someone busy for a week or so.
