Honor the service and sacrifice of those buried in Stones River National Cemetery by cleaning their historic headstones. On Saturday, April 10, 2021, thousands of volunteers will gather at sites across the country to keep our nation’s heritage not only preserved but pristine. Park Day, the American Battlefield Trust’s annual hands-on preservation event, will include up to 40 volunteers cleaning historic headstones in Stones River National Cemetery. Stones River National Battlefield’s Park Day event features a morning and afternoon option for volunteers. Two groups of ten volunteers each will clean headstones from 9 AM to 11:30 AM (Check-in begins at 8:30 AM). Two more groups will work from 1 PM to 3:30 PM (Check-in begins at 12:30 PM). Individuals and groups must register here to secure a time and work location. Volunteers should dress appropriately for the weather and must wear closed toe shoes. Masks are required.
