Harlem Vaccine Hub Moves Locations As Middle Schools Reopen

HARLEM, NY — A coronavirus vaccine hub in Harlem has moved about 20 blocks north now that the city's middle schools have reopened, health officials announced Thursday. The vaccination site formerly at Wadleigh Campus at 215 West 114th St. moved on Thursday to the A. Phillip Randolph Campus High School, at 443 West 135th St. (between Convent Avenue and St. Nicholas Terrace). Residents with appointments have been notified by text, call and email about the change, and signage and staff will redirect people who show up at the former site, the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene said. Appointments for the hubs can be made online at nyc.gov/vaccinefinder. In addition to the city-run hubs, sites offering the vaccine include pharmacies around Harlem and the state-run Javits Center site. The site's move was forced by Thursday's reopening of middle school buildings for in-person learning across New York City. High schools remain fully remote, as they have been since November, although de Blasio said Wednesday that a reopening plan for those students will be announced in the coming weeks.
