ROCKVILLE, MD — The pedestrian bridge that connects the Rockville Metro station to downtown Rockville over MD-355 will remain closed through the fall, WMATA said. Due to a safety concern, the bridge was closed on June 17, 2020. Construction is set to begin around March 1 and will last about seven months, according to WMATA. Metro has installed signs to notify customers of the closure and suggests that pedestrians use the following travel alternatives: Free shuttle bus service is available during Metrorail hours between Rockville station's Bus Bay D (West Bus Loop) and Monroe Street at East Montgomery AvenueOperates every five to 10 minutesTo cross Rockville Pike at Park Road or Church Street, use marked crosswalks and follow pedestrian crossing signals
