VCarve Pro is one of the most used programs for designing/carving with CNC machines. Come learn from Josh to get started on your project!
VCarve Pro is used by hobbyists and professionals alike because of its powerful and easy-to-use vector editing features. This class will cover all of VCarve's tools, focusing on image trace, node editing, using layers, and best practices for organizing your project.
Once your design is ready to carve you will learn all the different toolpath options available for bringing your carve to life! Profile, pocket, V-Carve, and Inlay toolpaths will be covered in detail. 3D toolpaths will also be discussed.
This portion of the class is all software-oriented and requires each student to bring their own laptop already installed with the VCarve Pro software. (Or arrange to use one from the MakerSpace, instructions will be sent for this before class.)
Also included is an hour of personal one-on-one time with the instructor in order to get clearance to use the more powerful CNC machines at MakerSpace, the R7, and ShopBot.
Guests are asked to be on time for events. If the safety briefing is missed, the guest will not be able to join the class and no refunds will be given.
MakerSpace Charlotte dues-paying members can contact Steve for discounted tickets.
Face coverings are required. Masks must cover the nose and mouth, as mandated in NC. Hand sanitizer and bathrooms are available for hand washing during the event. Guests will be asked to maintain social distance during the class.
MakerSpace Charlotte is located in the brick side door, up the ramp. Ring bell for entry.
