ARNOLD, MD — An independent survey ranked Anne Arundel Community College the best nursing school in Maryland. The judges at RegisteredNursing.org, an online guide to nursing education, surveyed 25 programs around the state and said these were the top 10: Anne Arundel Community CollegeHagerstown Community CollegeCecil CollegeSalisbury UniversityFrederick Community CollegeHarford Community CollegeAllegany College of MarylandCommunity College of Baltimore CountyMontgomery CollegeTowson University The University of Maryland came in 11th place. Johns Hopkins University finished last. The survey considered how well students performed on the NCLEX-RN Exam, a licensure test that all nurses have to take. The rankers also examined each school's: TuitionProgram lengthGeography coverageEducational pathways and partnershipsNumber of annual cohorts Altogether, AACC scored 96.59 out of 100. "Graduates of AACC's quality associate's degree nursing program have the benefit of a variety of clinical placements to enrich their practical skills, and a healthcare community that welcomes exemplary nurses to their ranks," the results said.
