IT'S AN INSPIRATIONAL EVENT YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS! RESERVE YOUR SPOT TODAY BEFORE THEY ARE GONE! About the Exhibit and the Kids Twenty-five volunteer photographers mentored 55 at-risk youth through 9-week explorations of their world, using the camera as a tool to help them gain a new perspective on the world and themselves. Images and coffee-table books will be available for purchase. The kids, ages 10-14, are students at Sequoia Deaf School, Children First Leadership Academy, and Boys and Girls Club Guadalupe. All are considered at-risk and are living at or below the poverty line. Many experience homelessness, abuse, and neglect. These young storytellers shifted from shy and apathetic to bold and engaged as they explored with their cameras and mentors on weekly field trips around town. The resulting images are a tribute to the restorative power of self-expression. COVID-19 Health & Safety Notice: Due to state regulations and to maintain a safe and healthy environment, all visitors must wear a mask or face covering that covers the nose and mouth, maintain social distancing of six feet, and observe all other posted guidelines regarding COVID-19. If you have experienced difficulty breathing, fever, muscle or body aches, sore throat and cough, fatigue and headaches, or any other potential symptoms of Coronavirus within 14 days of the event, please stay home to ensure the safety of our kids, volunteers, and guests.
