NOVATO, CA — A proposed Costco gas station at the center of controversy amid the concerns of environmentalists got the backing of Novato's Planning Commission, The Marin Independent Journal reports. The Planning Commission approved the proposal Monday in a 5-2 vote according to the report. The proposed 14-pump station will likely before the City Council for final approval March 9, the report said. The project at Vintage Oaks Shopping Center could be completed by September according to the report, which cites a city staff report.
