PHILADELPHIA — Philadelphia officials opened a second standing coronavirus vaccination clinic at a charter school in Northeast Philadelphia. The Philadelphia Department of Public Health and Community Academy of Philadelphia Charter School, along with City Mayor Jim Kenney and City Councilmember Maria Quiñones-Sanchéz were on hand to open the Health Department's second standing mass vaccine clinics. This new clinic is located at Community Academy of Philadelphia Charter School, 1100 E. Erie Ave. As part of the City's plan to make the coronavirus vaccine as accessible as possible in traditionally underserved neighborhoods, the Health Department committed to opening three clinics that can vaccinate up to 500 people each per day. These clinics will each ultimately run twice per week — once for first dose, once for second dose — resulting in up to 3,000 vaccinations administered per week. This particular clinic will be held on Thursdays until further notice. A second clinic will be added at this site when those vaccinated today need their second doses. The city opened its first clinic Tuesday at the Martin Luther King Jr Older Adult Center is located at 2101 Cecil B. Moore Ave., #35.
