ELMHURST, IL — In the last few days, Elmhurst handled cases involving a school drug sweep, a disturbance, warrant arrests, phone harassment, drugs in a hotel room and driving violations. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports: School drug sweep A police officer and a canine were requested to help Timothy Christian Schools, 1061 Prospect Ave., conduct a narcotics sweep at the high school building about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday. Disturbance Police were called to a domestic disturbance about 10 p.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of East Wrightwood Avenue. The victim said the suspect shattered a bowl and inadvertently scratched him. The victim said he didn't think the suspect intended to injure him. Six warrants Joshua A. Samayoa, 24, of Elmhurst, was arrested at 2 p.m. Wednesday at North and Melrose on six warrants and a charge of obstructing identification. In the same stop, Amanda Jacquez, 25, of Elmhurst, was arrested on a warrant, driving with a suspended license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. They were released to the Addison Police Department. Phone harassment After several online conversations, a resident in the 300 block of West Van Buren Street provided an unknown suspect with his bank account and credit card information. The suspect electronically deposited money into the victim's bank account and paid the balance on the victim's credit card. After freezing his accounts, the victim received threatening messages from the suspect. The victim told the suspect to no longer contact him. The report was made Tuesday. The crime was listed as phone harassment. Drugs in room A woman met with a suspect in a room about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Extended Stay America, 550 W. Grand Ave. When she entered the room, she saw suspected drugs. She said she then left the hotel room and called to report the suspect. An investigation is pending. DUI Justean Morgan, 44, of Hoffman Estates, was arrested about 1 a.m. Thursday at Route 83 and Lake on charges of DUI and improper lane usage. She was released on bond. Driving violations Hannah Brown, 18, of Lombard, was cited about 6 p.m. Monday on charges of leaving the scene of an accident and failure to reduce speed. She was released on bond. Roberto Garcia, 54, of Addison, was cited about 7:30 p.m. Monday at Church and Lake on charges of driving without a valid driver's license and failure to yield turning left. He was released on bond. Andreana D. Sanders, 30, of Bellwood, was cited at 10 a.m. Wednesday at North and Illinois on charges of failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. She was released on bond. Eluding officers An officer saw a car that was reported stolen about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday at North and Interstate 290. The officer tried to stop the car, but the driver sped away. A few minutes later, an officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop for speeding, but the driver sped away. Warrant arrests Vincent R. Rosinski, 21, of Northlake, was arrested about 7:30 p.m. Monday on a warrant. He was released to the Northlake Police Department.Joshua M. Temen, 25, who is listed as homeless, was arrested about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 700 block of South York on a warrant. He was released to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office.
