Press release from the City of Glendora: February 26, 2021 ADOPTED ORDINANCE NO. 2058 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDORA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION 2.04.010 OF THE GLENDORA MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS THE CITY COUNCIL City of Glendora, California WHEREAS, Pursuant to Section 2.04.010 of the Municipal Code, the City Council established a time and place for holding regular meetings; WHEREAS, City Council meetings are scheduled to be held on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month; and, WHEREAS, The City Council desires to combine the Special agenda Closed Session business and Regular agenda as a single agenda and change the start time of City Council meetings. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDORA, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City Council hereby ordains that Section 2.04.010 of the Glendora Municipal Code is hereby amended as follows: Meetings. The city council will hold its regular meeting at the hour of seven p.m., on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. The regular meetings of the city council shall be held on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, closed session business will commence at 6:00 p.m., when scheduled, and general business session will commence at 7:00 p.m. The meetings will be held in the city council chambers in the City Hall or at such other places within the city limits of the city as the city council may, from time to time, provide. If any regularly scheduled council meeting falls upon a legal holiday, the meeting shall, without further notice, be held upon the Wednesday following the regular meeting date, which shall be the next day, at the hour of seven p.m. at the City Hall at the same hour on the first legal date subsequent thereto.Notwithstanding the foregoing, closed session meetings of the city council may be scheduled as part of the general business session, when necessary, and nothing herein shall operate to preclude the city council from reconvening into closed session discussions in the event that the city council does not complete the closed session between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. SECTION 2. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase, or portion of this Ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining portions of this Ordinance shall nonetheless remain in full force and effect. The people of the City of Glendora hereby declare that they would have adopted each section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase, or portion of this Ordinance, irrespective of the fact that any one or more sections, subsections, sentences, clauses, phrases, or portions of this Ordinance be declared invalid or unenforceable. SECTION 3. The Mayor shall sign this Ordinance and the City Clerk shall attest and certify to the passage and adoption thereof and cause same to be published at least once in the San Gabriel Valley Examiner, a weekly newspaper of general circulation, published in the City of Glendora, which newspaper is hereby designated for that purpose (GC ยง 40806); and thereupon, and thirty (30) days after its passage, this ordinance shall take effect and be in force.
