WESTLAKE, OH — A woman crashed her car into a creek near Westford Circle on Thursday, Westlake police announced.
At 8:45 p.m., callers reported a car crash near the parking lot of an apartment building. When officers arrived, the car was in the creek. Luckily, the water levels were low enough that it did not come into the vehicle.
Police helped the 28-year-old driver and her disabled 6-year-old son out of the car. They were taken to a hospital for a medical evaluation.
A Westlake police spokesperson said the 28-year-old appeared intoxicated. She was cited for operating a car while intoxicated, child endangering and failure to secure a child in a booster seat.
The child was turned over to a sober relative and police contacted Cuyahoga County Child and Family services.
