BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt. ARRESTS DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED/REVOKED LICENSE Magen M. Skinner, 33, of the 5400 block of Lucina Avenue, Johnsburg, is accused of driving on a suspended/revoked license, having an expired registration, and was arrested at 4:04 a.m. Feb. 17 at Nicols and Rose. Bond was set at $2,500 and Skinner was assigned a court date of March 3 in Rolling Meadows. Jonathan Marquez-Ortigoza, 22, of the 500 block of Wimbleton Drive, Prospect Heights, is accused of driving on a suspended/revoked license, speeding over the statutory limit, and was arrested at 1:53 a.m. Feb. 12 at Bernard and Lauren. His bond was set at $2,500 and he was assigned a court date of Feb. 12 in Mundelein. Brian Lamont Payton, 41, of the 200 block of Penny Lane, Grayslake, is accused of driving with a suspended/revoked license, operating an uninsured vehicle, having an expired registration, and was arrested at 6 p.m. Feb. 12 in the 700 block of Corporate Grove Drive. A bond hearing was scheduled for Feb. 14 in Waukegan. INCIDENTS DRIVING COMPLAINT A resident called police at 5:20 p.m. Feb. 14 to report that another motorist struck her vehicle after almost striking her. She said she was at the gas pump at the Circle K gas station, 50 W Lake Cook Road, when the motorist in front of her began backing up. She was walking in front of her car as he was backing toward her. She said she was able to avoid being hit, but the person hit her car. She said she confronted them about her displeasure with his driving. The two continued talking inside the store before the other driver left the property in his car. The complainant provided police with the driver's license plate. SUSPICIOUS PERSON A resident in the 600 block of Farrington Drive reported at 4:30 p.m. Feb. 14 that a man she did not know was knocking on her rear glass-sliding door of her home, saying he needed to check her water about 30 minutes prior to the call to police. The man then walked to the front of the house and the resident let the man into the home, where they walked to the kitchen to check her water's clarity. The man then grabbed a glass cup, poured water into it from the faucet and poured it back into the sink. He told the resident he would be back in 15 minutes to fix the issue. The resident gave police a description of the man and she was advised to call them back if he returned. Stay Patched In!
