Press release from the Contra Costa County Public Library: February 26, 2021 Hunger and poverty are prevalent in our county and have been made worse by the pandemic. An estimated 50 million Americans face food insecurity daily, including at least 17 million children. Contra Costa County is no different. Perhaps you and your family are impacted, or your friends and neighbors. If you need help, we can connect you with resources. If you want to help through giving or volunteering, we can connect you with the organizations where you will make the biggest impact. Join us for our zoom panel discussion on Solving Hunger in Contra Costa County on Saturday, February 27th, at 2pm. It will be live streamed on Facebook and recorded for later viewing. Panel Participants: Learn what these organizations are doing on the ground, how the pandemic has affected the already existing problem of food insecurity, and how you can find relief or offer support. Other ways you can help: We have an opportunity to build a hunger-free community. Together we can make a difference.
