Hooray! I am delighted to announce that the District and the Albany Teachers Association (ATA) have reached a tentative agreement that, if ratified by ATA membership and approved by the Board of Education, launches the hybrid reopening process for all our schools, from Transitional Kindergarten to twelfth grade. The new agreement builds on the previous Memorandum of Understanding with ATA regarding the Albany Children's Center preschool reopening, and adds further information specific to elementary and secondary school hybrid plans. *Please note that this announcement takes the place of posting proposals. Dates for reopening in-person - hybrid: Grades TK-K: March 15 Grades 1st-3rd: March 22 Grades 4th-6th: March 29 Grades 7th-12th: April 5 This agreement and the hybrid reopening plans themselves are the result of many hours of unprecedented effort by administrative and teaching staff, along with powerful and compelling parent/guardian input from the AUSD community. We want to pause and acknowledge everyone's efforts on behalf of Albany students. Most of all, we want to thank our students, who have shown their adaptability and persistence throughout this pandemic and continue to inspire us every day."
