Local Nonprofits Launch 'Pitch A Kiss For Autism' Campaign

Press release from The Kur Carr Group: Feb. 27, 2021 Four Valley-based nonprofits providing services and resources for kids with autism are launching a six-week fund-raising campaign asking people to create short spring-training themed videos that Pitch A Kiss for Autism and post them on social media platforms. The event, which will run from Feb. 26 through April 16, "is a quick and fun way to participate in spring training even if we can't go to the ballparks," said Mary Ann LaRoche, Executive Director at SEEDs for Autism. "We're ready to start the season by adding a creative 'designated hitter' to the lineup that we hope will be a home run for our kids." Proceeds from the campaign will support SEEDs for Autism, Society of Autism, Greater Phoenix Chapter; Kids with Autism Can and CAPA (Chrysalis Academy Parent Association. The idea is simple: • Make a short (15-20 second) video Pitching A Kiss for Autism by air kissing a baseball (or even a pretend ball) and giving it a toss. Post the video on preferred social media platforms. • Tag your friends and ask them to create their own video, invite their friends to join in and push out the link, www.pitchakiss.org, to make a donation. • Be creative. Dress in your favorite team's uniforms or colors and include family, friends, pets and whatever makes sense (or doesn't!). "People can make as many videos as they want and we hope they share, share, share with friends and colleagues," LaRoche said.
